Detecting lies and deception is a difficult thing to do, even by people who are already trained. But now there is a technology that can overcome it. As we quoted from Wired, they have seen a project called Embodied Avatar, a computer kiosk that is designed to help the work of customs officers and border.
The computer can detect liars after they answered a number of questions. Yes and no answers will be compared to the feedback obtained from various sensors contained in the kiosk, the microphone is used to pick up a wide variety of speech and two cameras to record eye movement and pupil dilated.
For a while the machine is only available on a limited basis in Arizona, with a very high success rate, about 94 percent when used in a trial in Poland. Department of Homeland Security reportedly very keen to use the technology.
